Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from the Weaver family! Let’s praise God together for his faithfulness and his provision!
“Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34: 3
Our hearts are overflowing with thankfulness and we are in awe of our great God and his work in our lives. Much has changed since our last newsletter, and while we know many of you know of the changes, it is good to have a formal recap and to publicly proclaim the goodness of God.
In our last newsletter, we asked for you to pray for us as we raised support to move to Belize. Since then, God made it clear that he needs us to go to Jamaica first, and we couldn’t be more excited! Bob served as an intern in Jamaica with CSI back in 2011 (10 years ago this summer) and we are humbled that God would call us back there to serve full-time. We cannot wait to see how God will work in us and through us to further his kingdom. Praise God that he would use lowly sinners like us!
This past summer we have been so thankful to have had the opportunity to travel and to present our ministry at 6 different churches! This was simply not possible the previous year with Covid. We are beyond humbled to report that we have reached 100% of our support level for our first year of ministry. God is so, so good! To have reached this level in such a short amount of time is only by the hand of God. We saw over and over again how God provided and led people to us to support us, when we felt like we did very little. We cannot thank all of you enough for your continued support, both financially and in prayer. You are all partners with us and we are so thankful for you!
While we are at 100% for our departure goal, we are only at 50% for our ongoing monthly support towards our annual goal. If you would like to partner with us, follow these steps:
- Go to csiministries.net and click on “Support CSI Financially” or “Donate”
- Fill in the information and select “Bob and Rebecca Weaver, Missionaries-Caribbean”
- You can also mail a check to CSI Ministries, 840 Daniel Drive, Kokomo, IN 46901
Let us tell you more about how God has provided for us this summer. One of our favorite stories to tell is that we sold our yard at a yard sale. We were having a “moving sale” and someone came up the driveway and made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. About a month later, the paperwork was final and with what couldn’t have been a smoother process, our house was sold. Even better, we are staying in our house for 2 months, rent-free! Our buyer agreed to let us stay until we leave for the mission field, which is God just showing off and taking care of us more than we ever dreamed of.
Another highlight since our last newsletter is that Bob was able to go to both Belize and Panama. In March, he went to Belize with Kip Worrel from CSI. It had been a whole year since anyone from CSI had been able to travel to Belize (due to Covid), and they had a wonderful trip being an encouragement to our Belizean partners and meeting with some new partners to learn how we can serve together in the future.
In May, Bob led a small team on a trip to Panama. They served at VIDA Ministries, a Christian radio ministry in the remote Darien providence of Panama, home to the Choco Indians and one of the world’s densest jungles. Bob was very thankful that he only saw one snake, and it was dead in a ditch!
In the Spring, we were able to join, via Zoom, Unity Presbyterian Primary School in Belize City, Belize for their staff devotions. We joined three times, and one of the times, Bob led the devotions. It is really awesome to have technology that allows us to stay connected to our Belizean friends!
At the time that this newsletter is being written, we only have 32 days left before our flight out to Jamaica. Pretty surreal!! Our overwhelming feeling is of great thankfulness to God for how he has provided and has led us to this point. We are so excited to get to Jamaica and see what God has in store for us there!
As we have our final month here in Ohio, please join us in prayer for:
- All the final steps that need to be done to pack up our house and get ready to move
The emotional transition to go well for us and our girls. Leaving our family, friends, and our home is tough!
Jamaica to be able to ease its travel restrictions so that teams can travel there in 2022
Our Belizean and Jamaican brothers and sisters are still experiencing so many hardships due to Covid
Our annual monthly support to get to 100%. We are currently at 50%.
Our next newsletter will be written from Jamaica!! See you all then!!
Bob, Rebecca, Samantha, Anna, and Nora
