Jamaica Awareness trip opportunity!

We would love to invite pastors and mission leaders to experience CSI’s Jamaica ministry firsthand. Arriving on Monday August 22 and departing on Saturday we will stay at the CSI guesthouse getting a feel for what a mission team would experience. We will travel seeing ongoing projects, visit local school and ministry partners while enjoying Jamaican food, friends and the countryside. One day will be spent introducing Jamaican pastors to an abbreviated The Way retreat giving us time to worship, pray and visit our Jamaican counterparts.

If you have not been to CSI Jamaica before, for the cost of airfare plus $200 we would invite you to travel with us! For more information contact John Key at john@csiministries.net or 765-661-4034.

Open teams to Jamaica are forming to work on CSI Jamaican staff’s homes!

Life in Jamaica has been challenging and we are dedicated to helping our Jamaican crew with significant home maintenance and repairs which they have had to postpone.

During the long Covid lockdown our Jamaican staff continued to work three days a week, but with no teams traveling to the island they were able to survive but unfortunately were far from thriving. Our staff are the backbone of the mission house and give consistency the work CSI engages in across St Mary parish in Northern Jamaica. We want to bless and honor them!

Many of our staff live in CSI homes that were built in the 1990’s in which they have lived continuously since. The longer you live in a house in Jamaica the more some little unwanted guests invade who love to eat your home! Pinto needs a complete new structure as the termites have damaged it throughout.  Pearlene and Eli need significant repairs to replace termite damaged areas while Anthony (Oney) has a kitchen that floods in the rain and needs to be reworked.

During the week of May 14th to May 21st our goal is to pour a pad for a new home for Pinto (20 x 20 with a kitchen and bath) and to work at Anthony’s (Oney) house repairing his concrete kitchen floor. If you have concrete skills or general building experience, you are needed.

During the week of July 2nd to July 9th an open team is forming to build a new house for Pinto and to repair the flooring in Pearline’s and Eli’s homes. Both have been devastated by termites and need replaced.

Donate to the Jamaica Staff Fund.  Our goal is to raise $18,000. To register or for more information contact CSI at 765-286-0711 or csi@csiministries.net

Guatemala Open Team | June 18-25

This June, CSI is forming a team to help pastors in the Chiquimula area of Guatemala whose homes were damage by hurricanes.

A bit over a year and a half ago two Category 4 hurricanes blew through this area causing widespread damage to homes, churches, business and infrastructure. The local churches led by the pastors worked tirelessly helping the communities recover. But several pastors themselves still do not have their own homes repaired. Pastor Ramirez and his family’s home flooded after a levee broke in the Morales district leaving 3 feet of mud over their whole property. We would love to rebuild helping them settle into a safe and clean home!

We need people to join the team! We will be hosted by the local church in village of Sioux as we work on the Ramirez family home. Flying in and out of Guatemala City we will have some time to see the beautiful mountain region, worship with some passionate believers hearing their vision to impact their communities. We also will visit the site of the newly drilled well to which many of you contributed located in the impoverished area of Taco.

If you would like to give toward the building materials for the Ramirez family home designate your gifts to “Guatemala Projects”. Our goal is to raise $6,000. Contact john Key at john@csiministries.net or 765-661-4034 for more details.
