CSI Ministries has teams down each week during the year to serve in some capacity in the St. Marys Parish area – from VBS to House Builds and evangelism. For over 50 years we’ve served in the rural area of the Blue Mountains – faithfully. Several teams were lined up to come down and in March when COVID-19 hit, the entire world changed quickly – eliminating the opportunity for travel into the country. Our missionaries and staff there have been safe and healthy. They are serving to meet the needs as they can, but are also in need of work. We are praying that virtual builds will keep our staff engaged and employed until our teams can return. And the list of families waiting for homes is in the hundreds! Since the late 80’s CSI has been able to provide basic shelter for hundreds of families. We are thankful that even in the midst of a pandemic, with the internet and some creative planning – our ministry is continuing.
The Delphi United Methodist Church’s (Delphi, IN) short-term mission team was not able to fly down to Jamacia this past June to serve and build a house for a family. They did not let this stop them from serving and delivering on their commitment to bring others closer to Christ. The team was able to meet virtually (via Zoom) and connect with the CSI staff in Indiana and the Jamaican CSI staff. The ‘virtual build’ took place over a 4-day span and the family that received this blessing was overjoyed! Click through each section and see what we did to ‘achieve’ connection via Zoom videos and deliver this home to a family in need.
