Jeanne & Dennis Cook, Missionaries with VIDA Ministries

Vida Ministries has been working in Panama since late 1981 with national Panamanians and the indigenous population establishing churches, bible schools, and bring unity to the Body of Christ in the Darien jungle region. In 1996, Vida Ministries added another instrument to aid in spreading the uncompromised Word of God when Estereo Vida, the first and only Christian radio station in the jungle, went on the air ministering to approximately 70,000 inhabitants. Vida Ministries also travels throughout Central and South America holding conferences for Pastors’ wives. Each year they minister to over 1500 churches of all different denominations at their conferences.

The Vida Ministries home office is located in Kokomo, Indiana where Jeanne grew up.

Open Team for a Skilled Construction Volunteers

CSI Ministries has been asked to assist Vida Ministry in the Darian Jungle area with some foundational building needs to enhance their ministry located on 68 acres.  We see this as an honor to aid another organization that serves God!  We are always striving to find ways to bring others closer to Christ, even in times like this.

The needs for this project with Vida Ministries are really specific for this trip.  Jeanne & Dennis have been serving in Panama since 1981.   These full-time missionaries live in the remote Darién province of Panamá, home to the Choco Indians and one of the world’s densest jungles.

In addition to several ministries they manage, they launched  ESTEREO VIDA in 1996.  This is the first Christian radio station in Darién. Covering the majority of the jungle, their broadcast carries God’s saving love and truth to even more remote areas, including places in Colombia where no churches exist.

We are seeking team members to join us May 29-June 6, 2021 to tackle specific labor on big projects that they need assistance with to carry out their ministry.

Projects include:

  • Helping to build a pole barn
  • Hand Mixing Concrete
  • Pouring Concrete for Sidewalks
  • Laying Tile
  • Replacing Windows
  • Indoor and Outdoor Painting
  • Repairs at the Radio Station

While we don’t always require ANY skills to serve, in this case, since we are meeting a specific need, we ask that you prayerfully consider before committing to join us.  The team sleeps on mattresses on the floor of the dorm.  The distance from the airport to the ministry is a five-hour ride to the remote jungle where they live.

Suggested skills and gifts:

  • Concrete or Masonry experience
  • Construction background
  • Building experience
  • The physical ability to do the heavy lifting
  • Durable nature in the tough climate

We are seeking 12 total team members.  Bob Weaver is leading the team and has been on mission trips to Panama in the past.  We are excited to work with Jeanne & Dennis, another “HOOSIER” on the ground serving the Kingdom.
